AstraZeneca sought to increase participation among Black women in U.S. oncology clinical trials as part of its diversity strategy.

Challenge
Enrollment among Black women remained disproportionately low due to historical mistrust and limited culturally relevant engagement. AstraZeneca required a credible, community-rooted approach capable of building trust while driving recruitment momentum.
Process
Valarie formed partnerships with trusted advocacy leaders to design a culturally grounded activation that combined storytelling, stakeholder dialogue, and direct trial-matching pathways to connect awareness with action.

Solution
The initiative strengthened stakeholder trust, elevated AstraZeneca’s leadership in clinical trial diversity, and generated measurable engagement toward increased recruitment among Black women.
