With a focus on health, strength, and personal expression, the collaboration showcased how life after 50 can be filled with vitality and creativity. Using the Year of the Dragon as an inspiring backdrop, the promo celebrated the importance of embracing new forms of movement and finding joy at every stage of life.
2024 is the Year of the Dragon symbolizing health, strength, and finding your power. For many, this power comes from achieving balance physically and mentally through activities like Tai Chi. But how do you elevate Tai Chi to the dragon level? We remixed the track and brought together size professional dancers, boasting over 150 years of collective experience to showcase what it's really like to defy aging.
Meet Cindera Che, LeeJ Razalan, Al Harnois, Paula Ayotte, Elizabeth Jee, and Soon Song. Generations and art forms come together as this eclectic group massively combines Tai Chi and modern dance.
The powerhouse choreography demonstrates the continued strength and agility of its dancers, breaking the barriers of age and ability, with over 500,000 cumulative views and 1.5 million impressions. The social media posts were a buzz with celebration. Commenters praised the seasoned dancers and cheered on their aunties and uncles surprising performances, but we didn't stop there. Our dancers brought their moves into the homes of fans and AARP members with Dragon Movement.
A series of Tai Chi dance tutorials released biweekly following Lunar New Year, the Year of the Dragon, continued with a spectacular giveaway, VIP tickets to an exclusive Into the Dragon screening and a chance to win limited edition dragon sunglasses designed by renowned eyewear designer Paul V by encouraging personal passions and self-expression. AARP led the way for Asian Pacific Islander members to embrace their inner dragon and live life to the fullest, not just on Lunar New Year but every day.
